Beaulieu is extra special at it is usually privately owned (including the river bed) It is own by Lord Montagu if Beaulieu. The river is some 12 miles (19 km) long, of which the last 4 miles (6 km) are tidal. We are going to make the best use of this tide and swim the 3.8K from Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard on a leaving tide! The finish line will be the historic Bucklers Hard. Bucklers Hard was once a significant shipbuilding centre, building many wooden sailing ships, both merchant and naval, including Nelson's Agamemnon. The event date is Saturday 12th September 2020 and the start time is 6:30am to ensure we catch the tide right and we are all out of the river before it become busy with boats ! We will coach you to the start 2.5 miles away at Beaulieu. You will enter the river and all start together. There is a lovely footpath that runs alongside the river which is great for friends and family to support you! Lovely medal for all finishers.
